Warmset Electric Ribbon
Heat Mats

Faster heat transfer. Lower profile. More installation flexibility.

FloorHeat now offers Warmset Gold Ribbon Heating Systems – an advanced electric floor heating technology designed as an alternative to traditional electric cable mats and carbon film systems.

Using a patented laminated heating ribbon design, these systems create a broader heating surface and tighter heat distribution compared to round cable systems, helping deliver more even floor temperatures and rapid heat transfer.

We offer three installation options:

  • Gold Fiberglass Mats – ideal for tile, stone, glue-down flooring, and embedded applications
  • Gold Aluminum Mats – designed for floating floors and dry installations
  • Gold Loose Ribbon – customizable ribbon for irregular spaces and routed installations

Why Choose Ribbon Heating Technology?

Traditional electric underfloor heating systems have long relied on standard round cables, which concentrate thermal energy within spaced, cylindrical conductors. Because these wires are separated by gaps, they create distinct lines of intense heat, often resulting in an uneven thermal footprint across the floor—a phenomenon known as “hot-spotting.” This localized concentration not only forces the system to run at higher temperatures to bridge the cold gaps, but it can also place structural stress on the flooring material above it.

In contrast, Warmset’s innovative ribbon technology utilizes a flat, laminated heating surface specifically engineered to revolutionize heat distribution. By replacing narrow wires with wide, flat ribbons, this design drastically increases the surface area of the heating element.

BENEFITS:
  • More uniform heat distribution
  • Ultra-thin profile (approximately 3 mm for fiberglass systems)
  • Fast heat response
  • Easier handling during installation
  • Durable laminated construction
  • Available for glue-down and floating floor applications
  • 25-year warranty available on Gold products

Gold Fiberglass Heat Mats

Gold Fiberglass mats are designed to install directly into thinset, self-leveling compound, or screed while maintaining an extremely low profile. Their fiberglass backing makes installation straightforward while providing flexibility across many flooring applications.

Key Features

  • Only about 3 mm thick
  • 20” wide mats available at custom lengths
  • Adhesive strips for aiding installation
  • Can install directly in tile adhesive
  • Suitable beneath ceramic and natural stone
  • Can be embedded in self-leveling materials
  • 25-year warranty

Indoor and specialty outdoor applications available

Ideal for:

  • Tile
  • Stone
  • Glue-Down Wood
  • Self-Leveling Underlayment
  • Embedded Installations

Ideal for:

  • Floating Floors
  • Laminate
  • Engineered Wood
  • Vinyl
  • Carpet

Gold Aluminum Heat Mats

Gold Aluminum mats are engineered specifically for dry installations where embedding in mortar is not desired. The aluminum layer helps spread heat evenly beneath floating floor surfaces while maintaining fast response times.

Key Features

  • Only about 3mm thick
  • 20” wide mats available at custom lengths
  • Designed for floating floor installations
  • Works under laminate and engineered flooring
  • Suitable for vinyl and carpet applications
  • Dry installation—no embedding required
  • Uniform heat transfer
  • 25-year warranty

Gold Loose Ribbon

Need heat where standard mats don’t fit?

Gold Loose Ribbon gives you the flexibility to create custom heating layouts around cabinets, islands, unusual room shapes, or project-specific designs. The self-adhering ribbon allows faster custom placement while maintaining the benefits of laminated ribbon technology.

Key Features

  • Custom routing flexibility
  • Great for irregular spaces
  • Install directly beneath flooring or in screed
  • Available in multiple output options
  • Self-sticking installation
  • Single-side power feed
